コロラドの太陽みたいです。
This flower reminds me of Colorado sun.
最近珍しく湿度が上がり、氷を入れたグラスの外側に水滴が付いたので
' あらっ! ' と思いました。 何しろ乾燥地帯ですから とてもまれなことです。

The temperature is down a bit but the sun is still searing and plants get scorched.
No matter how much you try to conserve, gardening in Colorado requires lots of water.
The basic irrigation is done automatically thanks to 6zoned sprinkler
and drip system that we carefully planned.
Gardening doesn't always work out the way you planned, does it?
この細長いサイドガーデンはわん君が＊＊＊に使うので
ワイルドフラワーの種を蒔いてナチュラルにしています。
それで、三本の木以外はお水は引いていません。
My side yard here is filled with native plants, all started from seeds.
It's a long and narrow difficult area but good enough for the dog to do his thing.
ちょっと、黄色が多いけどこんなに元気に咲いてくれて

ところが...
お隣が引っ越されて空き家になり、芝生のスプリンクラーが止まった為
ここまで滲みこんでいたお水が来なくなってしまいました。
実はこれは去年の写真で、今年はこの1/10 程ぽつんぽつんとお花が咲くあわれな風景。
お水をもっとあげればいいのに何故かこだわって無視しているわたしです。
どなたかお隣に引っ越して来られないかしら？ いいとこですよ、本当に。
A lot of yellow here but I was happy how great they grew and thought it had its own charm.
Well, the neighbor moved out, sprinkler stopped, run-off water stopped coming.
Above photos are from last year, I have maybe 1/10th of plants this year.
It's a sad sight. I should water them more often but I'm having a hard time adjusting.
Will someone please buy the house already?
It's a nice place, really.

うちも今年は久しぶりにひまわりの種を蒔いたので夏らしい景色を満喫しています。
コロラドは雨は少ないんですか？
うちの方もここのところ雨がまったく降らず水やりが大変です。
この黄色いお花’Ratibida’というのですね。
ユニークでとってもかわいらしい～

ReplyDeleteまぶしすぎるくらいハデですよ～。
こちらの年間降水量は平均38cmです。 （ちなみに日本平均は114.6cmとありましたが？） でも、この数字は雪も含んでいますから、夏の雨量は本当に少ないんです。 ついつい日本っぽい草花が欲しくなりますが、やはりお水がい～っぱい必要ですね～。
Ratibidaは俗名はメキシカン•ハットというんですが、ほんとにサンブレローみたいですよ。 オレンジが入ったのもあります。
ひまわりは素朴だけどかわいいですね。 鳥が種を食べにくるのも楽しみです。
It's always something in the garden! Sometimes, what looks wonderful one year. . . fails miserably the next! Here's hoping you get a new neighbor soon; preferably one who is generous with his irrigation. :-)

ReplyDeleteI went out there twice to weed the yard since they moved out. You know I will have a bigger headache if the weeds go to seeds.
