Clematis 'Princess Diana'

Clematis texensis  'Princess Diana'

I wonder how may people think of her when it opens its lovely bloom.
She is covered with many buds this year.

"Congratulations, son"   She is reaching out to give him a kiss.

Rest in peace, Princess.

garden gate

before

after

There was no gate on the north side
and I needed to walk all the way around the house
to come in and out of the garden.

It has been a year since mister built a gate for my birthday.
We'd decided to follow the HOA (homeowners association) design guideline -for now.

Maybe an arch this year?

wheelbarrow

Iris

My wheelbarrow is rusty.

I neglected it in the garage for a week, leaving the damp dirt inside.
I used it guiltily this morning when I divided my iris.
Worked and worked on it with a steel-wool but didn't help much.

It has a bent axle from moving heavy gravels. It squeaks and squeaks when I push.
It is hard to part with old tools. Is it because I'm getting old?

I will take better care of you, stay just a little longer.

It stopped crying with a few drops of oil.

Irises are for friends.

bloom where you are planted

windflower  anemone sylvestris

I like this saying.

A seed carried by a wind landing far away from home, trying to bloom.
She looks around and realizes she is surrounded by big, beautiful, gorgeous flowers.
Someone might step on her.  Is there enough water?

A small flower opens - because help and love are plenty here.

Dom Pérignon

I  became an American citizen a few years ago.

People from around the world were gathered for the ceremony.
Many tears and smiles, some even read a book.

Happy and sad at a same time
It was difficult for me to tell my mother
"It's okay"
She said with a smile.
The precious Dom Pérignon was a gift from the son.
Made a cheeseboard out of the bottle.

Why is it that I think of my motherland every time I see it?

父の日

Indian paintbrush   Castilleja spp.

Father's Day
I was able to knit a good portion of my cardigan at Southpark cabin.
Mister got up early and went fishing with the dog.
He tells me that he caught a few but let those babies go.

I went to a little hike when the knitting became tiresome.
I was so hoping for the nice wildflower display but it was still too early.
Indian Paintbrush castilleja spp. was just waking up, peaking up their clear orange faces here and there.

The son called home from work in the evening.
He remembered ~.

gate is open again

Love-in-the-puff  Vine

Cardiospermum halicacabum

The blog was private for a long time because of personal information.

I was told  that the blogger didn't have the feature to separate public and private blogs. Well, I found out a few days ago that you could put those private blogs back into your draft file and they will stay private.  This may not be an easy task with people with hundreds of entries but it was easily done for me.  Decided to write in Japanese as well, partly to remember the language and partly because I've met wonderful Japanese bloggers lately.

Just a small collection of "sighs" to leave a tiny mark because I'm realizing that how invisible I'm becoming.
