New Year and misunderstood monkeys

Happy New Year!

Wishing you a New Year filled with new Hope,
new Joy and new Beginnings!

The three wise monkeys over the Tōshō-gū shrine in NikkōJapan source

This is a year of monkey, and I feel obligated to tell you about
 these misunderstood monkeys.

I 'm sure that you have heard of
"See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil"

When I first found out how they were commonly interpreted in western world
as "turning a blind eye", I was very sad.

Because I was taught something completely different about them.

In a nutshell, they are teaching you to look and hear good in people, and say only something nice.

Isn't this better?
