Anemone sylvestris

I have a few plants in the garden who are too rambunctious.
I was allured by their charming appearance when I planted them.

This is a skilful anemone who can spread by seeds and underground.

Oh dear...

Do you have any rambunctious plants?
It all depends on the climate, I suppose.

It has been unseasonably warm April.
With strong storms predicted tonight, it was cooler this morning.
I wanted to finish up a few chores that I had started in the garden, and ended up spending seven straight hours gardening.  Phew!

Deutzia gracilis 'Nikko'

She came!

I found out that the Deutzia isn't very common in the U.S.
There was only one place selling it online (Amazon.com), and I am so glad that I was able to find it!

agrostemma githago,  Corn Cockle seeds

And,
I finally found the Corn Cockle seeds.  I bought pink and white (two different kinds).
Corn Cockle is a lovely reseeding annual that I used to have in my garden.
Although my garden is dominated by perennials, I love annuals that reseed themselves, and I'm hoping that she'll come back year after year.
Cross your fingers!

What are your favorite annuals?

~ ~ ~

Interesting idiom /

Cross your fingers : 〈

I hope these seeds will grow well. Cross your fingers!

Keep your fingers crossed

aquilegia jonesii x saximontana (?)

The alpine columbine in my trough is blooming.
I hope you can see how small it is next a penny.

Columbine is the Colorado state flower.
There are many different colors available, but I think this lavender and white one best represents Colorado.
The higher elevation where my son lives, you can see the colonized columbines,
and I'd like to go see them this year.
The peak season will be in early July, I think.

The first clematis to bloom in my garden is a Western US native Clematis hirsutissima

I'm not sure if it's the vir. scottii or 'Garden club of Denver'.
Very cute and carefree.

I'd really like to collect seeds this year.
