Crested Butte August Trip / wildflowers

もう、ワイルド・フラワーの満開期はとっくに過ぎてしまった八月中旬ですが
Crested Butte のメドゥーは　まだまだたくさんの野の花で賑わっています

It may already be passed peak season, but even in mid-August, wildflowers still sparkle in Crested Butte.

その中でも、リンドウを見つけたときはとても嬉しい

Of all the wildflowers, spotting gentians in the wild excites me the most.

ロッキー山脈生物学研究所 （英語）近くのトレイルでこのジュエル・トーンのブルーを見つけました
ここはなかなか興味深い研究所です、勿論コロラドらしくのんびりした雰囲気

I found this most saturated blue by the trail we took near the information center at Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory.
The RMB Lab sounds like a wonderfully exciting place without being too stuffy -very laid back, like everything else in Colorado.

この高山性の忘れな草を見てみたい・・・でも、山頂近くまで登らないと見ることはできません
もう、無理かもしれないけれど、頭の中にある【生きているうちにやりたいことのリスト】に付け加えました

I picked up a wonderful wildflower book here.
I'd love to see the alpine forget-me-not in the wild., but you know how it is...
You'll have to climb to the summit to be able to see them.
I don't know if I'll ever be fit enough to climb to any summit, but I put it in my "bucket list" anyway.

息子が3810mまで登山したときに撮った写真です
咲いていたのはたぶんモス・キャンピオンかな？　これも綺麗
ここは確実に樹木限界上です

This is a picture our son took when he climbed to 12,500'.
I think these are Moss Campion Silene acaulis in bloom -beautiful nonetheless.
And as you can see, this is clearly above tree line.

一時間程石ころだらけのトレイルを登ったら（はあはあ、ぜいぜい）
Judd滝の見える崖にたどり着き、楽しかった一日の爽やかな締めくくりとなりました

また下山しなくてはならなかったけれど
足取り軽く、ちっとも苦にならなかったです

After about an hour of more hiking the rocky trail (lots more panting), we arrived at the Judd Fall.
A perfect refreshing ending to a fun-packed day.

Oh yea, we still had to hike down the hill, but I didn't mind.
