我が家から北に車で一時間半程(約145ｋｍ）の所でワイルドファイヤーが炎上しています
今朝のレポートでは1348エーカー 、約1650000坪以上が焼け野原になってしまいました
数回降った雪はあっという間に溶けて しまい
この乾燥状態ではコロラド州全域がマッチ箱のような現状です
A wildfire is burning in Colorado -already.
It is about 90 miles north of us, and has burned 1348 acres as of Monday morning.
The little snow we have had is almost all gone.
It is like living in a kindling box - so, so dry.

二年前に近くで野火事があったとき
通知がきたらすぐ非難できるように待機しておいてください、と、連絡がありました
それ以来、最小限の重要書類はICE、アイス・ファイルにまとめてすぐ持ち運べるようにしています
We have had a reverse 911 call two years ago when we had a field fire near our house.
We were told to be ready to evacuate any time.
After this incident, I have made an ICE file containing important documents.

これから暖かくなると火事のリスクは高くなる一方です
写真などいろいろ整理しておかなくちゃ・・・

追記； 二年前、非難指令スタンバイの連絡後、友人と電話で話した時にお互い交し合った最初の言葉は
「毛糸の荷造りした？！」でした～ （汗
eta; On a lighter note, I remembered that first thing my friend and I said to each other on the phone after the evacuation stand-by notice were "Did you pack your yarn?!".
