三日は　ひな祭りですね

英訳は Doll Festival 又は Girl's Day

なんだか、しっくりきませんね　（しっくりしません、だったかな？）

木目込み人形のお雛様はわたしの日本発がはっきりした時

母がくれたものです

My mother gave these dolls to me when she found out about my leaving Japan.

子供のころ

ひな壇の下のほうに飾ってあった

'おままごとセット' で思いっきり遊びたかったのを覚えています

We had a traditional tiered doll display when I was a child,

and I have so many fun memories associated with it.

こちらの人は

皇族の話になるとどうしても上辺だけしか理解できてないような気がします

そういう歴史がないので　当前のことですよね

I think it's very difficult for most Americans to understand the complicated feelings we have toward royalties.

No history with them, no feelings for them (for the most part).
As simple as that, and that's Okay.

甘酒は手に入らないので

にごり酒でお祝いしましょう

I couldn't find the traditional sweet sake,

but was lucky to find a close cousin, cloudy sake or "Nigori za(sa)ke" to celebrate my history.
