先週末、久しぶりにシルク・ドゥ・ソレイユを観に行きました。

今回、テレビのCMにわたしが興味を示したのに気づいて　夫がサプライズで切符を手配してくれていました。
随分前、まだ息子がうちに居た頃　観に行ったことがあるのですが　彼らのショーは毎年デンバーで公演があるので　つい、｢いつでも行ける」という気持ちになったのでしょうね　そのまま10年以上経ってしまいました。

My husband and I went to see CIRQUE DU SOLEIL last weekend.

My husband caught me showing interest on a TV commercial and bought tickets as a surprise.
We have seen them long time ago, when our son was still living with us, but they come to Denver every year and I think I felt like "I can go see them anytime I want to".  Well, ten years passed before I knew it.

ショーにはこれまた久しぶりに電車に乗って。
家から最寄の駅まで車で20分かかるので目的地まで車で走った方が手っ取り早いのですが、こちらではなかなか乗る機会のない電車、なんだかウキウキ気分で乗りました、子供みたいに。

We took the light rail to get there, and this also was something we hadn't done for a long time.
It takes 20 minutes drive to the nearest station, so it's almost as easy to just drive all the way, but I rarely get to ride a train here that I felt giggly like a kid.

ショーはとても楽しかったです。全てがクリエイティヴ、そして驚きの連続でした。
マンネリ化しがちなアクロバット・ショーですが、うわーこんなの観た事ない～というアクトが沢山あって刺激満点でした。

The show was fantastic.　　
Everything they do is so creative and surprising.  I'd think that an acrobatic show could be very easy to get into a rut, but there were many acts that we've never seen before.  We were utterly entertained.

おまけに大きく揺れる電車内では　ちょっと向こうに座ったお姉さんがボーイフレンドに持たせた鏡を見ながらファンデーションからマスカラまで付ける技をこなし、デオドラントまで塗るという大胆さ。　こちらも面白かった。

シーズン中はどうしても庭仕事中心の生活になりますが たまには人ごみに交わるのもいいものですね。

A young woman was applying make-up on the moving train a few rows from us with the help of her boyfriend who was holding the mirror for her.  From foundation to mascara.., finishing with deodorant.   I was very much entertained here, too.

I tend to garden all-day, everyday during the season, but it was good to get out and have contact with real people.

pink ribbons

いくつかあったスーツケース・セットがあれこれ壊れてしまい
メーカー、色、デザインが違ったちぐはぐなトリオを使用しているこの頃です

Over the years, my traveling luggage has been taking a beating.
A few luggage sets has been broken up, and I now use a mismatched trio -different makers, colors, and designs.

共通点はハンドルに結びつけたピンクのリボン
同じようなスーツケースがコンベアからどんどん流れてくる中、この目の覚めるような鮮やかピンクのお陰で容易に見い出すことができます

One thing in common though, they all have pink ribbons tied to their handles.
People seem to use all kinds of things to identify their bags on the carousels, but I have yet to see bright pink ribbons like these.  I can spot my bags in no time.

I am getting ready for a trip to Japan.
Since I'll be changing planes twice each way, I feel that anything can happen to my checked-in luggage,
so I try to be prepared.
Aside from hygiene items, medications and change of underclothes, I have a few things I always have in my carry-on bag.  The very front one is my "fit under the seat" bag.

• 1頁にまとめた旅程表　待ち時間なども明記しこれに緊急連絡先の情報を加えた物を全てのバッグに入れておきます
• トラベルピロー　空気を吹き込むコンパクトタイプです
• 長いストロー　いつも2~3本持ち込むペットボトルに使う長さ、わたしはストローがあると頻繁に水を飲むんです　
• 大きなシルクスカーフ　軽く、暖かく、スタイリッシュ　（？）
• 編み物と糸切用の爪きり　TSA （お役所）のサイトから編棒持込許可をプリントアウトしたものも
• 本　文庫又はデジタル
• グラノーラバー　他のおやつもですがグラノーラは最低4本
• ハンドサニタイザー　保湿系使用
• ノートパソコン

• travel itinerary condensed on one page with all the info spelled out ( layover time, etc).   I also have this in all of my bags with emergency contact info.
• neck pillow  Mine is inflatable.
• long straws   I seem to drink a lot more water if I have a straw.  These have to be long enough to stick out from a water bottle which I always buy two or three before each flight.
• big silk scarf   It is light, super warm and stylish (I hope).
• knitting project with wooden needles and fingernail clippers for cutting yarn and a printout from TSA site stating permission to carry knitting items on board.
• book  paper or digital
• granola bars  and other snacks too, but always have at least four granola bars.
• hand sanitizer  I have one that is also a moisturizer
• laptop

Sunday evenings

昨夜アメリカでは、『ダウントン・アビー』シーズン３の最終エピソードが放映されました
またまたショッキングな結末！

わたしはシーズン１，２は見ていなかったのですが　あちらこちらで噂を耳にして興味をそそられ
一度見てみたら　それほどテレビ・ファンでもないわたしでも虜になってしまいました
幸いな事にケーブルで初回から全話視聴可能－これ、釘ずけマラソン視聴というのでしょうか？！

英国アクセントに慣れないわたしはすごく集中して聴かなければいけませんが
チラリと出るアメリカに対するイヤミも面白い！
城館、たたずまい、インテリア 、衣装、アクセサリー　全てが息を呑む素晴らしさで、感性の刺激度は極めつけ
ただ、ガーデンがほとんど登場しないのが残念！
ちなみに夫は無関心でした～　（笑

日曜 夜の時間をしばらく持てあましそうです

日本での人気はいかがでしょうか？
イギリス・ファンの方は特にエンジョイされると思いますよ

I couldn't find an accurate English word for it, but it means honest, dutiful, and straightforward

-all three words combined.

Mom didn't say,
She is sensitive, wimpy or timid.

Just
"She is sunao."

It was nice.

ラークスパーという名前の小さなとなり町で採れた美味しい蜂蜜をみつけました

I found tasty honey from a bee farm located in Larkspur Colorado; a tiny town near us.

２０日に書いた記事のタイトルのSpringのSは大文字にしていますけど、

はっきりしなかったのでもう少し調べてみました

季節、spring, summer, autumn (fall) ,winter は通常小文字です

ただ、季節を擬人化した場合は頭が大文字になります。

たとえば、

He was touched by Winter's icy breath.

彼は、冬の冷たい息を感じた　（大文字）

Where are you going this winter?

この冬どこに行くの？　（小文字）

わたしはお春さんを探していたので、まぁ大文字でいいでしょう

昔から匂いに敏感で

気をつけないと香水は頭痛のもとになってしまうんです

ながいこと　シャネル１９番を使っていました

わたしのちいさな贅沢だったのです

日常は瓶入りのパフュームではなく、オプティマイザーのオードトワレを使うのが便利でした

それが空になったので新しいボトルを買う前に、なんとなく検索

My favorite scent is replaced with an unfamiliar and unimpressive.

若々しいさわやかな香りですね、でも、やっぱり１９番みたいな魔力はありません

Anyway,

I now wear the Clinique Happy.

I think it has a young, fresh, and pleasing scent, but it isn't magical like the Nº19.
